With a whopping 13 ribbons on his rack, it's ony a wonder why Darren isn't proudly displaying them in his sig. Seeing as he doesn't, I just wanted to share this salty Marine's accomplishments.

You can always tell who has the most disposable cash by the size of their drop ribbon board ;)

Anyway, what is this: Operations Merit of Achievement ribbon. And what must be done to get one?

Now where is he? I'm truly concerned. :? :(

Was he still offline with computer issues before D-Con?

Do not panic guys... he is moving this weekend / week so I am sure he will be in contact soon!
No phone calls! He will be in a bad enough mood with the moving AND the lack of JD now we are back from the Con!!

Yes, thanks for taking care of it... although now that you explain what that was, I see the humour in it... :)

Heh.
No offense meant, mate. I just saw it and thought "EVIL CLOWN!"

Seriously, that bloody card used to come on late at night, and stay on ALL night before we had 24-hr TV... Accompanied by a low wail that raised in tone very slightly every few seconds before dropping again.

Creepiest.
Thing.
Ever.

I was somewhat inebriated one night, fell asleep watching TV, woke up a few hours later.
The experience still haunts me.

We had the same thing over here except the tone was a continous "beeeeeeeeep" (kinda like the old Emergency Broadcast System tests).

Man that was AGES ago!

But it does give me an idea for a goofy fake ribbon rack...

(No... I wouldn't actually put something like this on my chest  )

Thanks for the acknowldegement Dom, much appreciated mate. I had no idea to be perfectly honest.

Thanks for the concern as well guys. As I mentioned in another thread though I am not online properly at the moment. Unfortunately, having moved a month ago I have now had to move again and am waiting on a phone/broadband line to be installed.

I'm going through a rough patch at the moment and I also wanted to say that I appreciate the concern from some of the guys on here and support they have given me. It means a lot to me and I'm truly gratelful to have met all of you thanks to this board.

Cheers

Darren

Darren, did you include Somerset House? You and Geordie (and maybe one more?) were in full armour with Abe, I guess it would be counted as a minor drop, but a drop all the same.

For those that don't know, this was for the out door screening of Aliens in London summer 2006. A trip that also took in Buckingham Palace :D
