The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, we're back home from Leicester and what a weekend it was.

It was great to see the Marines in action as well as the the famous Harry Harris collection. The firing range was good fun and I hear that the children enjoyed the Bug Hunt.

The Alien Encounter was absolutely brilliant, from the briefing before going in, to the Marines pushing us out at the end. The scientific crew were absolutely amazing, the Aliens were frightening and the Marines great. The special effects were brilliant too. Everybody were wonderfully professional.
A special thanks to Malika for all her hard work in this too.

It was an honour and pleasure to meet you all.

Angela

Very well done to everyone involved in the weekend. A cracking event all round. So many people went beyond the call of duty I could have a list as long as your arm but just a couple of thank you's.

And a special thank you Malika for hosting the event.

And an big cheers to Munkay and Baz for holding us all together.

....Oh and some guy called Harry who apparently saw an Alien once

Well done one and all.

Edit:

It’s been a long day so I need my wife just to check my math but the preliminary figure raised in total from the charity auction and ‘ face mask brawl ‘ is............

£885 GBP

Again a big thank you to all those that took part and those who very charitably donated items.

That's a pretty impressive figure!

On a side note, I am now officially in sleep-deprived mode. Simple example: I'm being nice and friendly to my customers. They're so surprised some of them are apparently considering calling an ambulance...

Ahhh BUT we kept them all OUT on BOTH days till they were on the range.

The stormies tried two assaults when I was around (one each day). On the Sat they tried to trick us by entering the display area via the NSC cafe, quickly spotted Marines ran & armed up with PRs (running from various duties within the display area) & we beat them back out.

On the Sunday a Biker Scout & Stormie tried again & again were met by a large Marine presence with PRs. After some friendly banter they were just leaving when Scapy said "Watch out for the tree`s".
Well the Biker scout stopped dead in his track, turned his head around & asked "who said that".
As we are all UKCM`s & brothers to the cause,we pointed to Scapy & carried on the tree banter to our white helmeted friends.
Pointing out dents, scrapes on his white armour from Tree hits (The biker scout say`s near misses).
Then they left after we all wished each other a Good day.

Jason

Ah well, cut Barney some slack. I mean, he wasn't a marine, right? Just some corporate rent-a-gun...

Can't ask one of them to justify their paychecks after all. The whole system would collapse.
