The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ok, looking to book, but need help from the locals over there.

Am I better off:

1 - Flying into Birmingham and then taking the train to the NSC.

2 - Flying into London and taking the train from there.

I'm thinking about going through London and sucking up the train ride just so that on Monday I can head to London and hang out there for the day before flying home on Tuesday.

I'll be bringing a friend with me, and Drew has never been to the UK, so I think a day in London will be more fun.

Is there anyone in London, maybe close to Heathrow, that will give us a place to crash on Monday night? It would be great to have a place in London to drop off our suitcases before we wander London looking for trouble, and then we can all have one last London blast on Monday night before they kick me out of the country.

Also, anyone coming from London to Lester (which, by the way, is the proper way to spell it, even though, for some reason you Brits insist on making things more complicated with all these extra, useless letters [see Aluminum]) on Friday who we can travel with or who is driving and can give us a ride?

Let me know!

Hey Spat

I dont think there will be that much difference for you on the train from Birmingham or London so I would say stay in London. I'm sure there's someone that can put you and Drew up for the night on Monday.

I will be driving up on Friday and coming back Monday but unfortunately I only have one spare seat at the moment. Once you decide on where your flying into and what time your flight will arrive then that will make it easier for people to say wether they can swing by and pick you up or not.

Cheers

Darren

Sorry about that! I get confused between all the nicknames, screen names and real names. And the fact that you pretty much quoted the line verbatum from the DVD.

Hey Spat,

London, for sure. Birmingham is.... ummm...interesting in the wrong ways!

I live in South London, and am hopefully going to the NSC.

I MAY be able to help you out depending on A) My Fiancee and B)My work rota.

I know you don't know me, but a couple of the guys on these boards should hopefully vouch that I'm not a seriel killer! At least, not a sloppy one that's been found out... :D

Will keep you posted.

Heya Spat :)

Live about 30 minutes from London Heathrow, so if you went in there I could probably pick you up and get you a place to sleep. You'll just have to be nice to the 'rents. :D

Oohhh... Me be nice... Hmmm.... That's a tough call.

I'll try and practice that for the next few days and see how it works.

Would it be bad if we're planning to be out exploring London all night on Monday? Would there be a problem getting back in super late? Would you be able to wander with us?

Doubt it. Work would probably not make that possible, as I don't have enough holiday to last til January. :(

Actually I was wondering if people would be willing to assist other foreign members with getting to the NSC. I know the NSC isn’t too easy to reach if travelling from abroad and landing at London.

Would anyone based in that area be willing to help with travel to and from the NSC ?

Guys there is a whole UKG/AL family down in the London and Counties area that may be able to help.

I know Diz, Jon R and loads of sci-fi costuming UKG will be heading up in this direction, but it might be a case of a car full of guns 'n' stuff!

Harry could always leave all the tat that he was bringing at home and load up the lorry with people at the airport....

Geordi & Jon come on here regularly, so I leave it to them to do a bit of UKG/AL lift share stuff if they are able.

LOL! It sounds like you're trying to get me into people trafficking!

The truck will be full of old Aliens rubbish I'm afraid, and my trusty and glamorous assistant Geordi will be driving it so I think that rules us out. Sorry. :(

Harry

Armor has to be ordered well in advance, you know that!

I will be bringing some throat guards, back brackets, Spat Gone Wild DVD's, and maybe a few resin kits of non-Aliens items.

Anyone wants anything in particular, be sure to let me know in advance.

Also, is anyone driving to London on Monday morning and have room for 2 Yanks?

Also, still don't have a ride from London on Friday.

E-mail me with any help!

Thanks!

Harry told me I was to bring cheese and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups.

Cake as well now? Or do the cups count as cake?
