Yep here is my build thread for my marine.
I've been collecting bits and bobs since last year and have today received my BDU's from spat, as well as a few other bits for the costume.
First off all i have to admit that i'm UK Garrison. Been part of the garrison for 4 years now and my one regret is not going through the alien experience since to be honest i was sort of scared of the alien, hadn't seen one in person before. So there's me the tallest stormie at the NSC scared of the alien with the red collar. Been fascinated with the armour and weapons for a good long while but only last year after i had played the game did i make the decision to start the costume. Dan will know doubt remember me at Manchester marching up to him and loudly proclaiming that i wanted to be a marine.
I really can't wait to get this costume done and get out there and joining you all at drops round the country.
I am sort of basing my build on Frost so i will be obtaining a flamer at some point in the near future.
Big thanks go to Dan Copper for all the help and advise and i will know doubt be asking him even more question before this build is over.
Now for the progress. Below are images of what i have obtained so far.
I was able to get a snowwolf pulse rifle off a friend who had bought one when they were on sale and it came in a lovely shade of blue:
This was soon corrected and i repainted it in a brown bess mix. True to the original the colour changes depending on the light so it can go from brown to green in a heart beat. I also took the liberty of swapping out the shotgun cartridge in the grenade launcher for a machined grenade. Thanks go to chef for the paint code.
I got a pair of boots off ebay, well two pairs the first didn't fit but the second fit like a dream.
Also from ebay i was able to get a second hand lens for the helmet cam and was also able to get a pulse watch kit from a member on these boards.
From Noble i got a belt and grenade straps. The machined grenades fitted into these like a dream, i'm a sucker for shiny things.
Shoulder lamp. Works a treat and really lights up a darkened room. Can't wait to test it out up at some abandoned RAF building near me.
Dump bag and dog tags.
One suitable T-shirt for under the BDU's, well that and everyday wear.
Holster for a vp-70, still need to get a pistol mind.
Helmet cover, i do have a band floating around somewhere.
