The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ahh Monkey you didn't come to me first did ya!!

1. Have all the ticketry for D*Con as proof as to why you're entering the country at that time.
2. Have all the paperwork for the fiance visa showing you planned it for this weekend but due to the delay you're being forced to make two trips (one for D*Con and two for the wedding on the K1 visa).
3. Travel with a group if you can (entering with friends for the same event with costumes etc).

You're entering for a legitimate purpose. Cherie went through the same thing when she came into the UK prior to us getting married.
Immigration stopped her, questioned her but as soon as she pulled out the paperwork they let her through.
Not granted this isn't UK vs US immigration its US vs US immigration and we all know they're not going to be talking to each other.

Bring as much evidence that a) you plan to return to the UK, b) you're here for a legitimate non-marital purpose and c) if anything just let them know you're there to visit your fiance and friends for the D*Con event (which you are)

Having a few of us on speed dial for immigration to speak to as a verbal assurance (if necesary) may not hurt either.

I was actually given a very hard time when I went over to the UK. I answered honestly and told them that I was there to see my fiance and the lady pretty much FLIPPED OUT. Gave me a very hard time. Guess that was a bad idea. I think the lady questioned me for about 15 minutes. Kept looking at my passport, back at my itinerary then passport... Urgh. For a few minutes there, I didn't think they would let me through.

I just worry about the "what ifs" if Paul does choose to come over for Dcon. Now of course, I'll be at the airport waiting for him, if he does and would happily reassure them that he will not be staying...but I am the intended fiancee and it might not mean a lot coming from me.

Any suggestions and so forth, at this point, would be greatly appreciated.

Tony, when I spoke to Border Patrol today, they did suggest that...but also said, it's really going to come down to what the officer says that Paul gets when going through customs. They could very easily deny him access to the states and IF they do that, it would actually delay the fiance visa...

That is exactly what we don't want.

so sad.

As a Border Services Officer, I must concur. You will be sent to Immigration secondary and you will need to satisfy an officer of your intent to return to the UK. Bring with you damning evidence that you will.

I followed your updates on FB (don't get here much anymore) and I offered much in the way of the same suggestions. I wish there was something I could do to help. If the border officer needs someone to talk to I'd be happy to offer my number. One badge to another ... who knows.

And I'm more than willing to tell a Border officer to go f*** himself if he won't let you in (present company excluded of course Dom  )
