Well my B`day is on the 6th so I think I`m entitled to a get away
Would someone down there be willing to put me up for a couple of days? Maybe the Fri Night and Sat (worse case) Sun too?

Okay chaps. I know it's a few months ahead. Christmas is shortly around the corner. And also is the new release of the "The Thing" prequel. Myself & Mantroon are slowly loosing patience with the release date because were that bad "Thing" fans. And we want to meet up and watch it. I was also on the phone today with ADC and he suggested that we could do our Christmas meet up as well. Now, i understand that members here have families and need to be ready for Christmas. Which is very understandable. But if you have the time. I'd love to meet up with you all in London. Get some dinner a few drinks and then go and see the Prequel. A good idea was suggested by Munkey. We watch the 1951 of "The Thing - From another world" then John Carpenter's 1982 "The Thing". Go and get some dinner then head to the nearest cinema. EXCELLENT IDEA TROON! I was thinking that it's supposed to be released on 2nd December. In the UK. So we could do the meet up on the weekend of 10th & 11th December. So what do you guys think? Just checked trains and at present can get a return for £40 come down Fri afternoon/evening and leave Sun evening. Then I can jump on the tickets now and they be sorted. |

Because it over two days are we booking a hotel or just doing one day??? Or is someone doing a sleep over - ADC as his place is the biggest. If is one day thing and than a meal later I am up for that or two day thing is also ok. I can put people up on the 10th (Saturday) but not Friday. I wasn't expecting the kind of numbers suggested here, so we'll have to see how it goes in the run up to that date as I'm sure people will pull out nearer that time. But if we're looking at 20 people we may have to spill over into a local b&b or something. I imagine it'd be pretty cheap here. Callum, Paul, TV, Gareth, Harry, Darren & Gemma have already asked to stay so they're fine and I could stretch to six more to crash. First come first served. If we saw the new film in the afternoon we could have some dinner and a bit of a party at mine in the evening. Trevor would probably come along to that. At first it sounds good to watch the other films before hand but once you think about it more do you really want to spend six hours watching films in a single day? Maybe we could watch 'The Thing' in the evening at the 'party' after an xmas dinner out? If it's not raining we could probably watch it in the garden on the projector, coats and all, for added realism  There's a good boozer where we could get an xmas dinner nearby and we could get booze from Tescos which'd save some money. What do people think? |
