The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I think if you can make your Way to the Fletchers house in E Kilbride, that'd save a lot of hassle. Or if you want to can also come through to mine and crash. We can have a Pre-drop b33r..:)

I also have Guitar Hero 2 and two controllers..:D

Fraz, you're my hero.

I think I'll supply the beer seeing as you missed out on that 870 I was selling... I feel ever so slightly guilty about that!

Right, I've been giving this a great deal of thought.

If I pick up the minibus at 8am I will be at Fraz' place for 08:30/09:00.
We'll then leave there between 09:00 and 09:30.

No matter what road we take to EK, we have to travel along the M8 or M9. In rush hour traffic. Which could take anywhere uip to 2 hours.

Meaning we won't leave Scapeys house before 12:00 at best.
This leaves us 5 hours to get to NSC. Impossible.

I'm thinking that if I can talk my way into getting the bus the night before at closing time for nothing extra, either by pick up or drop off, then we can do an EK pick up at 8am? Still in rush hour traffic but with far more time as a buffer.

Affirmative. Exact times to be confirmed.

Just checked with the hire people. I can pick the minibus up the evening before. This gives us much much more time on Friday morning.

w00tini!

Now we just need to agree on a departure time from Hanger 97.

It might sound crazy but 06:00 would give is a nice arrival time at the NSC of around 14:00 or 15:00 with plenty of buffer time for delays.

I will try my best to make my way up to Fraz! But as me and Scapey live in glasgow, would it not make things easier to meet in glasgow city centre? It would cost me a small fortune to get a taxi to EK! !!

Fraz - i'll get you on msn tonight and go over the plans!

Sandy many thanks for keep us in the loop with the mini-bus details!!

Cheers

Bri :D

The problem is not the meeting point, but the time it takes to battle through the crap roads and traffic.

But, as we have the bus now a little earlier than originaly planned, this shouldn't pose much of a problem now, as long as no one takes the p*ss. We'll need You, Scape and Kat to be on the ready line and ready to go when we get there. :)

We're looking at a provisional 06:00 departure from Fraz' place with an estimated 07:00 arrival (allowing for delays) at wherever we're meeting in Glasgow.

Buchanan Bus station?

On a side note folks. Due to the very early pick up and the fact it'll still be pitch black, I'm going to try an rig up a system that will let you all have the lights on in the back without disturbing my view out the front. Probably just a sheet or something hung up behind the front seats.

Anyone wanting to sit up front must be the first to shout shot gun when they see the bus :)

Surely you're going to the hotel(s) first to book in/drop the gear off, then on to the NSC? :)

We've got to get there first! We're 5 to 7 hours north of the NSC!

Yeah, I know that, just thought the first port of call would be the hotel.

A 10:00 departure would be too late. We'd never get to the NSC on time. We have folks needing to be there before 17:00 for rehersals. Ideally ASAP.
We're all making the effort. I'm doing all the driving (I've taken two extra days off so I can pick the bus up and drop it off!), Fraz has put his credit card on the line and everyone else is moving out the night before to be ready.

Would it not be possible to arrange the babysitting to begin the evening before?

I have included a map below.
Our proposed route past your area is marked in red. Can you get to any place that is on that route?

Probably the best place would be Scotch Corner Services, at the junction of the A1 and A6:

Cheer`s PVB,that probably is the best place to be too for pick up/drop off.

Once I learn to drive (yea almost 40 & never tried..LOL) I`ll make a point of knowing the roads :D

So Padsbrat, looks like we have a location to pick up/drop off for me :D

So any idea how long it takes from your start point to Scotch Corner?

Again Thank`s for the pick up & PVB for pointing this out :D
