Well after a morning of justifying any future events I think I am over worked in the positive stakes, so my sincere apologies for the lateness in this post.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who worked for months to make this event happen.
Teri as always you have been a star and I could not have done any of it without you, Tony RB, Jon, Geordi, D1z and all the UKCM for the AE, Bug Hunt and just making the public terrified! The Scientists, civilians and support team working to make the AE a great success again (thanks to Sue for putting up with loosing Paul all weekend). Thanks to Alex for laying the groundwork last year to make this work so well once again.
To Gareth, Paul, Andy and all the UKCM crew who put on a stunning show in the Boot Camp, I am sure you will all raise your glasses to the fantastic artwork created in the Boot Camp booklets and around the building from Mr Troon (thanks for all the hard work matey) Mike for the amazing additions we had to the AE (and CAKE!!!!), Kevin for the sweeties (I might have nicked one or two) and for not killing me when I forgot the auction items (we can use them next year, I am sure they will have gone up in value!), Simon for the Sentry Gun, OH GOD WHO HAVE I MISSED!!!! Harry and Dave for their collections (I still prefer Dave's tut Harris!!!

), Geordi for making me laugh time and time again (mainly with the story from Harris about the diesel light

), Karen for being an amazing person (come on she puts up with Geordi), D1z for jumping on me for cash at the auction and everybody for spending a shed load of cash for charity....
To everybody who pulled out all the stops, travelled from across the world (thank you Spat - we will sell out 100 seats next time and have an adult only evening with Miss Spatcave and an adults only AE!) without you this event would be nothing, so next year I promise to fill the place so you can complain about how busy it was instead!!!
Can I finally add that I had a tear in my eye when Jon got his gold patch, thank you Paul for allowing us to break into your busy schedule in the AE, but this just HAD to happen. For those of you not aware of all the hard work Jon put in, it was A LOT. Without him the Robot guys would not have been there, we would not have had a rota, script and the infrastructure to run the AE. Add to this that the last person I escorted of the premises on Monday afternoon was Jon, you will understand that he was a truely deserving winner of a gold patch.
I am going to post the same comments on the UKG board, as this was an event where both groups worked just as hard to raise money for charity and as such both deserve equal praise for their support.
See you all again next year!
