I'm also amused to see that there is a character called Sam Carter. Yes, I did have a little nerdgasm and then realised it would make for a really boring film because Carter would have figured it all out in about five minutes and saved the day.

The only 'premiere' I can find is just a showing of the film at a minor film festival in Leeds last night, 5th November.

I doubt that's the main UK premiere, just that it's the first showing in the UK.

As Vicky says, UK release date is still 2nd December.

Can't find any details on where and when the London premiere will be.

We're over subscribed due to more numbers than expected so Gareth has organised some hotel rooms locally since there will not be enough space for everyone to crash. So there are two tripple bedrooms booked, they are cheap this way (G will pipe in with the cost).

I think Darren and Rita are making arrangements to stay somewhere ("get a room" an' all that ), TechnoSasquatch I spoke to just now and he's crashing at mine. Not sure how to sort out who stays where so probably best for people to arrange between themselves on this thread. Anyone's welcome to stay just don't ask me to pick! First come, first served may be fairest if someone has time to back track through the thread and work it out.

People don't need to worry about the cost of the hotel - it didn't cost me much. Also, ADC is kind enough to give crash space for free* and we overwhelmed the space available, so I'm going to do the same with the hotel space.

*- after the day I've had at work today, I'm storing up a need for a few drinks. Donations of cider, gin and JD at the meetup would be appreciated!

So how many spaces do you have at your's, ADC?

And who's staying at the hotel?

The hotel is the "Mary Rose Inn Hotel" and is about 20mins walk from ADCs place. However, in the dark and cold of the evening, a shared cab or two would only cost a few quid in total.

No worries Dan, although I think it only fair to offer floor space to those who signed up first, so I would put yourself down on the hotel list (I'll do it for you here). Also, I said Mandy could stay but now she's coming with another late comer, Chris so I'll put them down on the hotel list, too.

Room at mine for ten (including moi), it is floor space so bring a sleeping bag/blow up/pillow etc, I'd advise it as I have a wooden floor. But I'm sure everyone will be drunken anyway which will help.

My suggestion would be to all meet up at lunchtime for the Thing screening, then head back to mine for a Christmas dinner in the boozer followed by a party at mine in the evening. Trevor Steedman will hopefully be in attendance for the dinner and shindig.

The dinner is £7.50 each on the night but I need to book in advance so looking at the list I will book a table for 19.

I'll post the menu up but it's a trad dinner and pudding etc, food there is good (Witherspoons type). Booze is cheap in the pub – pint of real ale is £1.30

Film has no cinema listings yet but Apollo west end where we showed Alien Encounters might 'feel' right and it's worth looking at the big two, Empire and Odeon LS. Expect to pay £15 per ticket though in central London on a Saturday.

Ok cool. If were going into central London then ill probably get the train up.
