The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Absolutely cracking weekend ladies and gents.

First drop and my first time meeting any of you, and I have to say I've never been more openly welcomed and looked after by a group of people than by the UKCM, what an absolute pleasure it was to get to know you all.

I'd especially like to thank my Hadrian's wall comrades without whom it would not have been possible for me to attend the drop.

The AE was fantastic and I'd have happily spent all weekend crewing that thing! Bug hunts were awesome fun, the celebrities were great sports and that bloody sentry gun classically rocked my socks!

And hey, two stripes on my first drop can't be bad..?

FACT!

See you all at the next drop!

Just in.

Wow, I'm absolutely shattered. I'm glad I took Tues and Wed off work to recover! (Last year taught me a lesson!)

What a fantastic weekend though, eh? I think everyone had loads of fun, and that Saturday Night dinner was an absolute hoot. We roped Spat into sitting at our table. His wit, combined with that of Sidewinder, Scapey and Fraz made sure my head was thumping from uncontrollable laughter all night! I've never laughed so much in one evening in my entire life. Real red faced, can't breath, laughs too!
Sixty caught the bug too!

It was great seeing all of you guys and gals again, and as always, it was a pleasure.
I'm glad to have made two brilliant new friends in the Techno Viking and Sixty. Both top chaps with whom I hope troop with many many more times.

Welcome to the UKCM Allen :o) Though haveth been baptised into the brotherhood of insanity 8)

Check out the cash we raised!!

This is Padsbrat, reporting the Hadrians Wall crew down and clear.
Signing off...

Still decompressing, but I've had food and a wash now :)

Awesome weekend.
I'll second Sandy's sentiments towards Sixty and TECKNO VIKING.
Great to meet you guys, and I look forward to seeing you again - As, as always, with the rest of ya!

Spat - It was truly an honour to meet you, dude. You're a legend amongst UKCM, and I think you now realise this.
As egomaniacs go, you're one of the best - So tesekkür ederim to you for making the effort to get your ass over to the UK for us! You made the weekend.

Finally back home, and about to get ready to run out to dinner with Leon.

Big thanks to all the members of the UKCM and the UKG, the NSC folk, and Malika especially, for welcoming me with such open arms, and showing me such a fun and crazy time at Sci-Fi Weekend.

Also, big thanks to Darren and Kevin for picking me up and dropping me off at the airport.

I had a blast this weekend, you guys really know how to make someone feel at home.

I would love to come back for future cons, but Techno Viking won't let me. :(

Harry Harris, Geordi and Karen down and clear... just.

On the journey back Geordi mentioned that the diesel in the truck was getting low and casually remarked 'don't worry, I'll fill it up when the fuel light comes on'.

We turn off the A14 at Ipswich and go onto the A12. About three or four miles later the van starts to splutter a bit and lose power. Geordi remarks 'that's odd, it's like we're out of fuel but the fuel light isn't on yet'.

I look over to the dashboard, move Geordi's packet of cigarettes out of the way only to reveal behind them.... the fuel light glowing brightly! Karen said something at that point but I won't repeat it here as it contained words that would make even Wierzbowski blush!

That's not all though dear readers! We splutter a little further and become quite concerned that we'll stop dead, right on the road. Then, as we turn a curve Karen spots the welcoming golden light of a Shell station. "We're saved" we think, only to turn onto the forecourt to see a sign saying 'no fuel, shop open'!

Luckily I call my dear brother who, despite the fact that I told him we're at the garage but forgot to tell him it doesn't have any fuel for sale, comes out to save us with a can of diesel anyway - so thanks to Harry (yes, he's a Harry too!) we got back, unloaded the truck and returned it just 30 minutes over the cut-off time from the hire company. Phew!

I had another fantastic time at the NSC, it was great to see so many old faces and to see some new ones too. Meeting Trevor Steedman and Ian Whyte was a total pleasure, as was seeing Terry English again and hearing his now legendary stories of his wonderful career.

I know I'm repeating what others have said but I have to pay big respect to Malika for all her hard work, Mike & Angela Rush for all their work on the Pulse Rifle cake and the graphics & props for the AE, all of the AE crew, the UKCM guys on the range and the display room (very nice by the way!) all the UKG folks, Spat, Dave Abberley and Adam Bosman for contributing their pieces to the exhibition.... and last but by no means least my trusty HHACA crew; Geordi, Karen, Osmotic and Axeman - and honorary crew members D1znee and Quothcorvus for helping us pack up at the end.

See you all soon, this is Harry Harris, last survivor of the crappy Luton hire truck signing off. ;)

I touched down safeley sunday night extremely shattered and aching like a very achy person.
got to do abit of everything this year.
Bughunt, guard duty,AE(as a bug which was awsomely awsome,Abe and i scared one woman so much she froze and adopted the feotol position  )
The extra touches to the AE,made a huge difference. The shooting range was amazing i think i showed half the UKG it )
Sure it was quiet especially sat but still better than doing an event like Mem etc.
The socials were great(sorry if i freaked anyone out fri night.Iwas catatonic for about 45 mins.)Sat night was great loved the UKGCM v UKG part of the auction. All i had to say was "its coming to the G"  Had agreat time.
Even got a surprise in my meal fri night which gave everyone a good laugh myself included(lucky for them i have a sense of humour i couldve made quite a scene if i wanted, for those who don't know i found a live catapiller in my salad, still better than finding a dead half catapiller)
Lots of great memories.
One low i left my projector at the NSC it was under the shooting range table.

Andy,

Check with Malika.

There was an unclaimed projector in the JES suite at the end of the Sunday night, we didn't know who it belonged to.

I think Malika has put it somewhere safe.

Cheers,

Andy.

Got home yesterday safe and sound. Was making great time until I took some directions from Os ;) got home eventually anyway though.

Had a great time with everyone as usual. Was great to meet all the new faces.

The AE was cool again and the bug hunts were a great addition thanks Clanger. Getting Trevor geared up and out there with the Bug was fantastic.

Big thanks to Malika for hosting the event and I hope that there will be another next year.

Was great working with the UKG again on this event and also thanks to the brickish society for their excellent Lego displays and to the robot builders.

See you all at the next drop.

Cheers

Not going to write an essay (at the mo anyway!) but I've got a few things I would like to say....

Thanks to everyone who helped out in the AE, making it such a fantastic experience. I really appreciate what you all did and how hard you worked, thank you! Thanks to everyone involved in the set dressing and props for the AE- The scientists loved all the bits and bobs they had to play with, all the signage and posters were great, and the bugs and marines were their usual scary selves! The additional items made such a difference too.

It was great to meet up with you all again, the boot camp, bug hunt, firing range, and displays were brill!

Harry, Os, Baz and Diz, thank you for the chats Sunday evening, it was much appreciated.

The socials were very much fun too, though I was a bit out of sorts Friday night. And thank you for the promotion!

Harry, thanks for the special items from the HHACA, as they came from your fair hands, I should presume they are screen used...? :D And thankyou for making me an honoury crew member of the HHACA- this means I do get a teeshirt, right!? :P And though you suffered at the hands of Geordi on your journey home, you still did better than me, I made it home and to bed at quarter to one this morning!

Malika, thank you for letting us use the Challenger again, and inviting us to such a fab playground, and for looking after us so well!

And finally, something that should of been said a long time ago, thank you Geordi getting me into this mess in the first place! Cheers dude, its all your fault!

Theres probably something else, but I'll post up as and when I remember!

Cheers y'all!

Just arrived home 40 minutes ago. :)

What a great weekend. The AE was fantastic fun, but I have a feeling that it was a complex deception to ensure that ABE didn't hog the TK's limelight! So few good photos! ;)

The Bughunts were the highlight of the weekend for me: looking out from the mezzanine level and seeing the size of the crowd and the camera flashes!!!! ;)

Great guests! Both Mr and Mrs Whyte and Steedman were really having fun and were great sports. And Spat, we love you! Come back soon! We looked at your DVDs, and I think Abe might have to go to D*Con sometime!
