The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ah! I understand the question now! I'm being super slow this evening. :(

To expand on the female rank guidelines, ALL enlisted ranks (Private to Sergeant Major of the Marine Corp) should wear khaki rank patches on their left sleeve. Female Officers (2ndLT to General) should wear subdued rank on their collar.

the green/gold stripe ones look too green to go on a khaki shirt and are incorrect for the type of uniform, which is why i went with the khaki ones.
it'll also look better if everyone has the same. As all the US/UACM have khaki, i thought id go with the flow

The only problem with that is, they don't fit with the flag patch on there. Well atleast mine don't on the women's sleeve. It is going to be one or the other and I am going with the country and the rank pins.

Yup, I noticed that when I went to sew my Corporal stripes on. D'oh! Stupid women's shirts with their stupid sleeve cuffs.

Everyone ignore what I said and do whatever the hell fits on your uniform. ;)

Well, after two failed attempts at getting my stripes on straight I don't think I'm going to be wearing rank anyway.

Awhhhhh come on Vicky :) Have you tried ironing a crease in the sleeve, fold the stripes in half and lightly iron them to create a crease, and then match up the two creases and sew :)

That would work if I could fold the sleeve. The printed patches I have on there already are so stiff they won't fold.

I've got a point on the cuff to line up with but no matter what I do, when I start sewing it ends up wonky.

I'll just promote myself to LT and start wearing officer rank pins. ;)

Mole, since you and I are the only women thus far to do this, I think we should sit down for a bit at D*C and come up with a standard for any other ladies that would like to do this costume. It will be much easier for us going forward.

What do you think?

BTW, they make lower rank pins. I have Private pins on mine. They do make them in all ranks.

Sounds like a plan. Perhaps after the Color Guard meeting at the High Velocity bar?

TBA

When the boy and girls comeback from DCon I'm sure we'll have a 'majority' view lol

I'm working on a couple of web pages to make life easier for peeps, explaining what you need, where to get it and where it fits.

Ok first I go away and come back to this shit.

Rich if you want to be with the Americans and Canadians than do so.

In the UK we have the Standard Green outline and gold strips.

Or if you are Kris Blue outline and Bronze strips !!!!!!

So everyone listen up and listen good !!!!! The UKCM are Green and Gold and these look good on service C's and will stay that. Any turn coats like Rich, Kris and Vicky you can do what you want !!!!

Cheer's Steve
