The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'd love to join but I'm bringing my 4yrold son with me and my parents and don't think it would be wise to bring him. Shame tho would have been good.

Unless you think he will be fine and he'll be leaving early for his bed time and they do some sort of kids meal

Cheers
Gav

I think the question is more, will the venue allow children.

I certainly won't be bringing mine tho as I know what they're like if they're not in bed by about 7pm. TBH, if you want to enjoy your time at NSC leave the kid with the grandparents.

Just reponded to the PM, but I thought I would post the answer here too to help with anybody else considering bringing children...

The venue for the "suggested" dinner is a vodka bar and as such I don't think children will be allowed to attend.

As an aside and having attended several of these events with the UKCM previously, although they are an amazing bunch of very diverse people (many of them great family men/women) they are Marines and Bugs at heart and as such there will be singing/drinking/swearing/hugs and possibly even some tears (of happiness at the auction).

Thanks Malika. I thought that would be the case.

As I said, if I can attend I wouldn't bring the kids anyway. I have no problem with my children seeing what the UKCM get up to. It's more a case of that I want to be able to kick back and enjoy myself rather than running about after two hyperactive kids. ;)

LOL! I don't think they would bat an eyelid. They're not old enough to understand most of what's going on and they're more interested in playing their own games than paying attention to what the adults are doing. I'm not saying I want them to see people get drunk, throw up in the street and get into a fist fight. The UKCM are more classy than that. ;)

OK I went to Revolution today to see the Sales person I have been talking with about this and happened to meet the Manager instead who was not aware that the Sales person had offered us exclusive use on a Saturday... he apologised and said no!!!

Fear not, I have spoken to my chef here and as long as we are happy with a sit down in the Rocket Tower (10 person tables) for a maximum 70 we can do it here!

Space Cocktails on arrival in the Rocket Tower

Seasonal soup served with a fresh bread roll

Pan fried chicken breast filled with a lemon and thyme farce

OR

Lasagne of seasonal roasted vegetables

All main courses are served with seasonal potatoes and market vegetables

Classic lemon tart

Tea or coffee

There will be a cash bar/cocktail bar/shots bar on the night.

I am looking into entertainment so you don't have to lug all your gear down Rev.

I'm cool bringing the kit down if folk want me to - Have moved to mostly digital DJing now anyway so it'd be my laptop, and the rock Band gear if folk wanna play that again.

What do you lot want? Let's hear yer votes :)

Dinner in the Rocket Tower sounds way better, Malika. Great stuff

Since there's not a bar there though I imagine we'd only be at the dinner for a couple of hours and then make our way back to the hotel for drinks.
