The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thanks for the "Bring the sprogs" suggestions, guys... But they're too wee still, I think.
Kat's going to just go into work on Friday now, as to be honest we need the cash after some unextected wedding related costs we discovered when we headed home from the honeymoon.

I'll put whatever extra I can afford into the transport fund to cover Kat's having to pull out and will raid the fridge ( And Mum's fridge ;) ) for as much booze as I can carry for you guys.
( I don't drink much myself so whatever I can carry is for you aside from the odd wee cider. )

Right... all sorted lads!
As you can tell by Scapes post above this one.

I'm picking Bri up on Thursday night.

Drop ship departs Fraz' at 05:00 and with touchdown at Scapes for about 05:40 / 06:00,.

Scape will literally jump in while the bus comes to a halt we pack his shit and get the hell to the bat cave!
Well, maybe not exactly like that. But close enough.

Should be a dustoff for the record books though :)

Well I`ll be at the service station from 9am then at Scotch Corner.

Or would being earlier be better?

09:00 is plenty early. I'd suspect an 09:30 to 10:30 arrival, traffic permitting. Scotch Corner is as good as half way.

To be sure, PM me and Fraz your mobile number and we will txt you when approx 30 mins from Scotch Corner.

Sixty booked one, but as far as I know all the room bookings were provisional and subject to us getting round to discussing who was sharing with who - I meant to say that me and Kat wouldn't mind sharing with folk if it made things cheaper.. Obviously moot now, but it's served us well at music festivals over the years.

OK folks price update with this news:

List of whos coming:

Me
Fraz
Scapey
G
Sixty
-------------------------
Axeman - half way

£480 / 5 = £96 per head
However as Axeman is paying half fare it reduces to £86 per head.

Considering the ammount of crap we're taking and the more we'll likely bring back, I'm still willing to go ahead with the Minibus.

I'd like hear a GO, No GO from you all please.

For the record folks, as I'm getting asked:

The company I've booked our minibus with have 12 and 15 seaters. Both are the same price however. So theres no real point in changing. They didn't have all that many available anyway. Which is a problem I encountered elsewhere.

It took me nigh on 2 months to get a minibus at the right price and I'm not about to spend the next two weeks stressing over getting something that might be cheaper.

Besides, everyone else I phoned were looking for about £400 for the original Friday to Sunday plan.
Considering we're getting this one for £400 from Thursday night to Tuesday afternoon, I think its obvious why I'm sticking to this one!
There are not that many companies out there who do minibuses, due to insurance fees and idiots claiming compensation when they crash them. (The words of one company I asked).

There is another option. If Bri can't get Monday off. We could cancel the room bookings for sun night and travel back up after.
That way Bri would only need one day off not two.

It puts a lot of stress on Sandy as the driver but he says he can do it if required.

It would cut down on the extra day minibus hire as well as an extra night in the hotel room.

What you guys think?

Ok Peeps

Further the Fraz’ suggestion about, here is the break down of the costs involved so you can all make an informed decision

The current Minibus booking with no change is:
Fri – Mon @ £400 + £80 Fuel (Estimated)

Currently 5 full share passengers which means £96 a head.

If we ask £45 off Axeman which I think is a reasonable ½ fare.
Scapey is adding a £20 contribution for Kats Seat and we’re asking the same from Bri. Add those together, we have £85.

Take that off the total hire price and we get £395 to devide by 5 which bring us to a final per head total of: £79 Looking much rosier and not too far off the original price.

With Fraz’ revised Sunday evening departure, pending hire company OK:

Fri – Sun = 3 days hire @ £300 + £80 fuel

Axemans fare: £35 plus £40 from Scape and Bri together = £75

That leaves £305 to divide between 5 full fares. That’s £61 per head.
On top of that you save £40 on a nights stay.

Votes please, ASAP too, so I can call the hire company with a definite request.

I would rather avoid a Sunday evening departure, unless it means Bri can come. If nothing else, I'd need to pay for a hotel bed that I wouldn't use (sharing with Darren).

I assumed that Bri would be the only reason we'd be leaving Sunday evening, since I think we'd all prefer a Monday travel.

We'd be leaving on Sunday evening if we all agreed as it works out cheaper since there are less heads paying full fare.
