The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I got asked to exhibit the HHACA collection at this event.

http://www.mercurypromotions.co.uk/

I actually didn't get back to the organiser but I'm working away all of May and the job is likely to be extended into early June. Also this gives me zero prep time so sadly it doesn't look like I can do it.

Nothing wrong with Wales dude.

It is a long way away for some folks yeah, but Atlanta isn't exactly round the corner either. ;)

I spent three years there, remember? ;)

I just have a natural aversion to the *North*... last time I was there, I almost got decked, just because I was English. Whee.

I might be up for this. What would the plan be? Travel up on the Saturday and head back after the show on the SUnday?

Cheers

There is also a Travel Lodge about the same distance but South of the venue instead of North. The rooms are for 3 people and would be £18 each for the night. The PTI is £53 per night and normally only allow 2 people so it is a bit pricier.
That said, the Travelodge does not have an onsite bar or restaurant. There is apparently a pub 10 minutes walk away and a little chef next door.
For the convenience of having a bar that is open till midnight and a restaurant at the PTI I would say the slight extra amount is worth it.

However, it might be an idea to find out from Al which hotel he is staying at so that we can enjoy a drink or 10 with him again. If the hotel he is at is too pricey then we could always taxi it over there like last time I guess.

Cheers

Darren

Would it not be a good idea and wait to see which hotel Al is staying in?

The Hadrians Wall crew regularly travel 7+ hours to get to where the fun is. 4 hours is nothing, we'd love that short a "commute". Suck it up man!

While on the subject, anyone from Hadrians Walls thinking of going?
I've driven down to the welshland before, its a good 10 to 12 hour drive.

I think Glenn's whinging on my behalf, as I'd be doing the driving.

1. I hate driving. Really, really hate driving.

2. Usually two hours driving and I just want to stop and leave the car for days. Getting to Leicester last year was a struggle.

3. On top of that, I have a slight helath issue which can make long car journeys difficult, so I hope you understand my reluctance to drive long distances. :)

If the Sarge is going to be there I'd love to go. :)

We could always stop less often on the way back.

Will have to check at work for others in my section taking time off, but colour me in as interested. :)
