The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This Drop now has the Green light ;-)

After finally getting back to me just as I was leaving work I had the Marketing manager call me he is defiantly up for a UKCM squad to attend.

Currently the arrival time is still to be sorted out ( I will have this info once I have spoken to him again tomorrow )

He has said any one who attends can have a drink on them and have free entry to the movie if they wish.

My general plan which I suggested to him was the marines are there a couple of hours before the movie to drum up a bit of business and pose for photos etc then de kit as the movie is about to begin ( 9pm it starts )

Now obviously I know this is very Last min .com especially as its a BH weekend but there sounds like some good scope for future events with them ;-)

If any one can attend please post here and ill update the thread after I have spoken to the chap tomorrow ;-)

Cheers

Coop

Ok guys

I now have the details for the drop tomorrow :-)

The Movie Starts at 9pm I have arranged for 10 seats to be reserved for us so we can stay and watch the movie once we have done our bit in the cinema entrance.

I will be on site at 5:30pm to sort things out if you could be there around 6:00pm - 6:30pm then we can aim to be out for 7:00pm

I have suggested that we only stay within the confines of the cinema due to carrying pulse rifles as we don't want to Alarm the local colonists ;-) there is to be a short presentation before the movie starts he has asked if we would be present during this then we can get changed and watch the movie,

I have also asked for an area that we can use as a changing area which he will sort for us

The address of the picture house is

38-39 St Andrews Street
Cambridge
CB2 3AR
Phone 0871 902 5720
Website http://www.picturehouses.co.uk/cinema/Ar...

Parking we have two options here ......

1) Use the Multi Storey car park wich is a couple of mins walk from the picture house.

https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/queen-anne ... e-car-park

2) The Marketing manager is going to try and get resident parking passes for us out his house ( This is a long shot so assume we are using the Multi story )

That about covers it if you need to get hold of me at all my Mobile number is 07884 046432

See you all tomorrow

Cheers

Coop

1.Queen Anne Terrace with is 70p a hour and 5 min walk to the drop
or
2.Grand arcade with is £1.00 a hour and 2-3 min walk to the drop
I know the place fairly well and if anyone want to RV at 1 of these and then troop across together shot me a PM.

Down and clear,

Well what can I say, short but totally awesome troop.
We was shown round the cinema for photo ops and generally a tour of the behind the scenes, always wanted to go into a projection room and boy was it cramped and hot, poor Beiber.... I had to cover his young eyes as there was half naked woman dancing on one of the films being shown lol.

We then posed for photos with people coming in to see the film Aliens, one or two people said they've never seen the film

Before the movie we walked in and stood at the front of the screen where Lee then gave a speech on this movie is a recruitment drive movie by the USCM/UKCM and how we are here to protect the audience lol.
Dan then got a message so Lee ordered me and Beiber to check out he perimeter so we ran out to investigate, due to us not returning the rest of the squad where ordered to locate the first squad.

Now everyone was out of the theatre we made our way back to the changing room, out of armour and back in to watch the movie on the big screen, if you've never seen the original Aliens at a cinema before then your missing out big time, awesome.

Great day with great friends.

Oooh when did Aliens have drum and bass at the end!!!!!

Coop down and clear.

After a very late finish and then straight back to work this morning I've only just had the chance to post my Combat report.....

First of I wanted to say a huge thanks to everybody that formed the Ready Line on such short notice after getting feed back from the Marketing Manager of the cinema he was absolutely over the moon with what we did and said they have many events but this was by far the best they have put on :-)

The evening started with a tour of the old cinema rooms and projector room which is where we saw the reason we were there :-)

Image

Image

This was one of the Original 70mm rolls that did the rounds up and down the country back in 1986 so I was pretty chuffed that we really were seeing the original as it were :-)

The guys at the cinema had made some posters advertising us being there which was a nice touch :-)

Image

With a crafty placed thumb I made it read better ;-)

Image

Once it got near time for the movie to start we moved up to the entrance hall just outside the cinema door and greeted the punters as they piled in the cinema was pretty much sold out so there were around 150 people in attendance. Once everybody was seated we moved in and carried out a small skit to introduce the film which went down really well with the audience once we had all left we de-kitted and then snuck back in to watch the movie :-)

Couple more pics

Cheers

Very cool. Great pics. I wish i could see it in 70 mm. Amazing stuff. My dad was a big film collector . Seeing stuff on the big screen is always a trill. Wish they would do something like this in the USA. Thanks for sharing
