The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Cheers for all the info guys :-)
I have just ordered a pair of 1968 vietnam originals for £30 and looking forward to getting them.
Any suggestions on pouches and a watch for my kit to add some character to it?
Thanks
Tony

The SA (screen accurate) watch is a Seiko Pulsemeter. Check Harry's Aliens Archive site for details.

They're very rare though, so often are bought by collectors for >£200.

yep the watch is a nice piece of kit if you can get one, i love mine and wear it all the time, but i am abit stuck in the '80's!! one of the guys on the board here was doing nice solid resin copies, he was also producing SA belt pouches but again they aren't cheap (but they are very very nice!).

good score on the boots!

If anyone has UK 8.5-9 jungle boots I'd be interested.

If you want to know about Vietnam Era jungle boots...

check out here....
http://www.mooremilitaria.com/reference.htm

Scroll about half way down.

If you're after screen accurate boots, you're really looking for Vibram Soled 3rd Pattern Jungle boots.

If you're not overly concerned about total screen accuracy, but want a decent boot. I suggest you look for current issue jungle boots.
They are nylon sided with the ankle reinforcement of the 3rd Pattern Junglies.
They have a nylon top strap but a leather back-stay similar to 2nd Pattern.
The sole pattern is a closed type, a sort of halfway house between the Vibram and Panama soles, although they do have an indent detail on the side of the sole.
Bloomin' comfy (I've been wearing my every day for about 4 weeks now).

Not totally screen accurate, but pretty close and a damned good boot for the price.

You can get those boots about £10-£15 cheaper if you go to a surplus store near you, S&O are always expensive.

Haha, yeah, not near me, they don't appear to have any boots, at least not on their website. Looks like I'll just have to trog down there at some point.
