The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello fellow my UK Colonial Marines!

I am in quite a pickle and was wondering if anybody could help me out!?!
Does anyone live near "Bridgwater, Somerset"? If so, would you be willing to help me out with an auction I just won. The seller will mail it to Canada, but it would cost me almost $40 CAN to ship. I'm wondering if the seller could mail it to you (?), then I can paypal you (?) shipping costs to have it mailed to me?
I'm more or less concerned about how it will be shipped. If it could be packed into a smaller box, then that might help with the shipping cost.
The auction I won was for the Beyerdynamic HM560 with original box.

If anyone is willing to help out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers!

That does seem quite high shipping for a relatively small item. Perhaps ditching the original box would also help (unless you particularly want it of course).

The original box seems to be not that large and made of cardboard, so unless they're going for registered (signed for on receipt) postage then that does sound excessive.

$40.00 is about 26.00gbp so long as that is insured and tracked that's not that bad. shipping in the uk is expensive. it will probably cost more to have it shipped to a uk member then to your self. i bought just the mic of ebay the postage with in the uk was about 8gbp.

I just weighed a 560 in a padded box, 300grams - Airmail is £4.11(6.40CAD$) with tracking its still only £7.81(12.20CAD$) - so they are taking the piss.

Thanks for the info :D
$12 CAN feels a lot better than $40!!! Thanks SAS for the info, that sounds more reasonable.

Hello I found the auction on Ebay.

I live near to Bridgewater in Somerset. I live in South Petherton in Somerset that about 15 mils away.

I see postage is free if it was pick up. I will go and pick it up and post it you if you want.

I would pack it up nice and safe and send it via airmail sign for £7.50

Cheer's Steve
